Following up on the recent Musicality of Ground workshop, here is a playful way to simultaneously wake up your joints and clarify your connection to the ground!
As explained in the beginning of the video, my intention here is to give you a framework for increasing your embodied understanding of how you can skillfully use your skeleton in relation to the ground. For that reason, I show you strategies for practice rather than a step-by-step process where your pacing is tied to my instructions.
If you learn the ‘Superglue’ game and make it your own, you can practice many different ways and adapt your practice to the environment you find yourself in and the amount of time you have available.
For deeper integration, also check out the following videos:
Clarifying Ground Support:
This full length class goes into considerable detail (and does guide you step-by-step) to understanding the relationship between your ankle joint and rotation of the bones between your ankle and knee, as well as the idea of using ‘ground forces’ in relation to the spiral shape of those bones.Feldenkrais Treatment for a Twisted Ankle:
This video provides more guidance for exploring a variety of movement patterns in relation to your ankle joint:
How to Unlock the Natural Movement of your Shoulder Blades:
This video makes use of the ‘Superglue’ game using your hand on the wall and provides more guidance for understanding efficient use of your shoulders.
Also, don’t forget my previous post with a large buffet of resources for experiential study of how to relate more harmoniously to ground:
