New drop-in class: 'Collective Well-Being'
There's no such thing as individual well-being without collective well-being
Something new is in the air these days.
For many people this became obvious following the U.S. elections this week, but I believe this 'something' was already there.
The simplest way that I can articulate this 'something' is to say that there seems to be a growing realization among us that
There is no such thing as individual well-being without collective well-being.
My response to this new current of feeling has been to look for ways to help more people understand what we can do every single day of our lives to make a positive difference in the lives of every other person we meet.
While this power always begins with loving ourselves, it only grows with the intention to expand that love outwards in all directions.
This will be the central theme of my new weekly drop-in class offering:
Collective Well-Being, Wednesdays 8pm EST.Â
Each class will include Awareness Through Movement, a practice of slowing down time so we can feel more, nurturing the wordless wisdom that lies below the surface of mind, closer to the solid ground that supports us.
Collective Well-Being will also be a place for community connection.
There will be a suggested donation of $20/class, but gifts of all amounts are gratefully received. All participants will have access to video replays.Â
Â
There was a great response to the first class, offered spontaneously this week to hold space for high emotions that were in the air.
(Comments from participants can be found below.)
Next Wednesday's class we will focus on the theme of autonomy and explore an Awareness Through Movement lesson that enhances the flexibility of the chest so that you can be more available for emotional resonance.
Â
Come to find more ease in your body, a quieter mind and a more peaceful relationship with what is. Stay to soak up the feeling of doing that together. Then take it back with you out into the world.
I look forward to being in community with you.

Experiences from the first class:Â
"That was so benevolent and helpful Seth. Thank you for your kind and capable holding of space and bountiful teaching... It was so regulating."
"My mind wants to race into the future and try to maybe protect a little, try to imagine some worst case scenarios. So it's really helpful to just be in a group, practicing presence."
"I feel much better. Thank you. I didn't realize how tight my eyes were. Now they're softer. Not to mention my breath is softer."
"I felt, through the breath, this way of connecting to all things."
"I was very dysregulated during my work today. If I was honest with my body, I was like, I don't want to be here at all! . . . I am really grateful. I really needed it. It helps re-ground me in what's very true and also very possible."
"Being able to share the experience that we're having of feeling grounded, being in tune with our breath, it just reminded me of how affected we get by each other. There's kind of a power in that, to be the one affected or be sharing what you have to offer . . . I can be very susceptible to other people's negative energy or stressed out energy. It felt empowering."
