Somatic self-love: "It's helping a lot!"
3 days to learn the keys to pain-free posture: 'SIT SMARTER' starts TOMMOROW!
Almost 100 people have signed up for the free 3-day Sit Smarter challenge that starts tomorrow at 12pm EST.
I'm so excited to share the key principles to pain-free sitting posture that have served as a key foundation for my well-being and flourishing ever since I discovered the Feldenkrais Method a dozen years ago.
A client recently commented to me:
“I've always marveled at how Feldenkrais teachers can teach a 4 or 6 hour workshop sitting on a low stool the whole time.”
Today, this gift keeps giving to me daily when I sit for an hour of meditation, more hours in front of my laptop than I'd like to admit (!) and whenever I'm sitting in the company of others who I want to give my full attention.
When you can sit comfortably, the lack of tension in your body improves the quality of your attention to any activity you are engaged in and frees you to form whatever intention best serves your purposes in the present moment.
During the 3 days of Sit Smarter, I will be teaching a new principle of pain-free posture each day through playful experiential processes that shows you how to find more comfort in a way that works for you - instead of striving to meet someone's else's abstract definition of "good posture."
To prepare you for these "short and sweet" classes (30 minutes or less!), I made a short video with one simple experiment in it which you will receive as soon as you sign up.
One Sit Smarter participant, a trauma therapist who previously suffered an injury to her low back tried this experiment and told me:
"I’ve already put into practice what you suggested in the prep videos and it’s helping a lot. Thank you. Looking forward to the classes."
In particular she said she would like to be able to work at her computer for two hours at a time with less need to take breaks. She also wants to be more adaptable in her sitting since she is a digital nomad and always working in different environments.
She said that if she could reduce the amount of her day that she now calls "recovery time", she could put more energy into her work - and play!
What would become more possible for you if you could sit pain-free?
To find out . . .
See you mañana!
